I wanted to talk to you the guys about “Retinol.” It’s something I honestly didn’t think was a real thing until this past year. I thought it was a marketing scam made up by skincare companies to sell more products to consumers. Turns out it is a real thing. It is a Vitamin A that helps your skin to produce more collagen which helps with wrinkles and fine lines.
There are two types of retinol. Retinol is a common over the counter product that you can get anywhere and generally not super strong. Retin-A is prescription-only retinol that is super strong. If you are like me and you are just starting out, it is better to start with over the counter Retinol so you can get your skin used to the product and see how it reacts.
Something we should all know just like any product this also has some downsides. It makes your skin super-sensitive to the sunlight so which means you should never forget to apply SPF. On a regular, you should be using an SPF anyway so this is not a big con honestly.
